-NEWS!-
[5-12-2002]: We had our SCL meet this past Saturday at Analy high school. We got second place at the meet, and ended up tying El Molino for second place in league. We had a lot of good races that day too, Maggie got the SCL record in the triple jump... by only 9 inches or something little like that. Our 4x400 team ran a season PR, and has a chance to compete for going to MOC next week also. Alex also has a good shot at making it far with his 300h and 110h times. Kyle made a great effort in the mile and pulled off a 4:36, a pr of about 8 seconds. Good job to all who didnt make it to next weekend, it has truley been a great year. Good luck next year. Ill keep the site updated for NCS, MOC, and perhaps.... STATE! One more thing, my mom got a few more pics from the meet, check em out here.
[5-1-2002]: Today we ran against Casa Grande, and in the end we were not able to pull off a win, niether boys nor girls. That is not the point though, I think this is the first meet we really worked together as a team for, people were doing things for points, and not for personal bests. Thats what its all about. So both boys and girls go into SCL with a 4-2 record. For boys, if we win SCL, we get 2nd, because Casa will beat Elmo. However, if we get 2nd, we tie Elmo for 2nd. I say we go for 1st! Girls have the exact same situation, but Sonoma is the 6-0 team, and Casa is the 5-1 team.
[4-29-2002]: We had Viking Classic saturday, and I must say that it went very well! Great performances from a lot of people, and everyone got together to help eachother out. You can view the new updated pictures section to see some awesome pics here. Wednesday is going to be a true challenge. We go up against rival Casa Grande! Both Trojan boys and girls are 4-1 now, Casa boys are 5-0, and Casa girls are 4-1. To beat Casa, its going to take a lot of teamwork here, emphasis on team. Sprints are almost out of the question here, so we must focus on other events. in a fake meet, we outscore casa by at least 20 points in running events, however... the field events gets them a lot of points, so... WE NEED HELP IN FIELD EVENTS!
[4-22-2002]: Last wednesday we went up against El Molino. Unfortunatly, the boys lost making them now 2-1. On the other hand, the girls defeated the lions and are 2-1 also. This upcoming wednesday is Healdsburg, at Petaluma. We also have the Viking Classic saturday at the SRJC. This should be pretty fun because its the majority of NCS. Get ready.... !!!
[4-11-2002]: This news section is devoted all the things regarding meets and such go. Check here in the future for current team scores and results.
[4-11-2002]: Today we had a nice talk with a coach and I personally think that this set a few of us straight, hopefully most. I hope that most of the people on the team realized that we were actually not much of a team. I think that this talk we had today will let people know that this is a team sport, we need points from everyone to win a meet, not just good performances from a few. Never forget that meets are often won by 5-10 points... so people that come in 2nd and 3rd place are just as important as the firsts. Also, we have had a tradition with the sprinters regarding the word of the day. However, the whole meaning behind it is lost and it is at most a chore for kids to remember this, so coach Stanley has dropped that. He has left it up to us to create a new tradition and uphold it to try and be unified. We have decided that after practice, we will get together and choose a word to call out. We will accumulate a list of words and then before meets, we will recite them all together.
[4-11-2002]: Congrats to both the boys and girls yesterday. The boys won over Sonoma and Analy and are now 2-0 in the league. The girls won to Analy, but lost to Sonoma which puts them with 1-1 in the league. Good job to all of you who gave it your all.
